Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama

We packed up and left our Texas haven on Saturday, May 5 and headed east.  Traveling with the kids is always an adventure.  At one point, we noticed Elise had her bum sticking outside the window with Alex coaching her on.  After the initial heart attack and punishment, we were left shaking out heads that kids will be kids at any age.  I remember doing the same thing with my brothers on road trips.  Gross.
Leaning out the window waving to all the drivers on I10.

Alex and Sis goofing off....

Grandmimi and Granpa told us that they always stopped at the welcome centers when entering a new state.  We took that advice and loved the beautiful Mississippi center, home of NASA testing station.

Gorgeous Mississippi coast with plantation houses on one side and Long Beach on the other.  Very dirty water though.

We enter Alabama and were awe struck at the beauty of the coast.   The first sign we saw in the Gulf State Park was this.  We've been searching for the famous resident every day.
Although we haven't seen alligators, frogs and bunnies are rampid in the park.
